Late last year Nottingham School Of Boxing and Switch Up organised a 24-hour Skipathon to raise funds and awareness around Mental Health in aid of our patron, boxing legend Herol Bomber Graham who was then sectioned due to his mental health. The whole Nottingham community came together, as well as fellow patron, former world champion Johnny Nelson and British legend Frank Bruno to take part in the Skipathon to show their support to Herol as well as raise vital funds for him. We were also grateful for the support of other local sports sports teams, such as Nottingham Forest, Notts County, Nottingham Rugby and Nottingham Panthers.
On Sunday 4th November 2018 we were joined by Johnny Nelson, young people from NSB and members of our community to present Herol with a cheque worth just under £5,000, as well as a book with special messages from everyone who took part in the Skipathon.
I would like to thank everyone who supported us throughout the 24 hours of skipping to help raise awareness for mental health as well as give something back to Herol Bomber Graham, a true Nottingham Legend.
